Girl's Doubles Tournament Added

Posted by admin on May 20, 2012

CHELTENHAM, PA - We are excited to announce that The Friends of Cheltenham Community Tennis has added an Unsanctioned Girls Doubles Tournament to be played in conjuntion with the Cheltenham Summer Open  Boys 12-18 singles USTA tournament this August 24-26.

The purpose of adding a Girls' event is to provide a forum for USTA and non-USTA members to participate in tournament play.  Furthermore, the Girls' event  coincides with their competitive school tennis season and takes place toward the end of their pre-season, therefore helping to prepare  them to be match ready.

The Friends of Cheltenham Community Tennis was formed to promote tennis in our community. Our main mission is to introduce  playing opportunities, develop players, and broaden the tennis population. We strongly believe that by introducing an unsanctioned tournament, we are adding to the playing options of students who have not yet decided to join the USTA , and would not otherwise be able to try out tournament play.  We encourage all Middle and High school  players to register for this upcoming tournament.  You can sign up for this tournament by going to our website at http://www.tennis.focpe.org/index.php/tournaments/.

For additional infomation about any of the tournaments, please contact Tracy Werner at tracyw(at)tennis.focpe.org.  For information about The Friends of Cheltenham Tennis, please contact Craig Reinheimer at craigr(at)tennis.focpe.org or Lori Liss Siegal at loris(at)tennis.focpe.org.
